Happy Valentines Day Bible Verses
As you look forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day this year, what better way to express yourself to a loved one or even deepen your own awareness of God’s love than by turning to the Scriptures. With over 570 mentions, love is a central theme of the Bible and we learn how much God is love and loves us with a steadfast love that endures forever. Throughout the Psalms, we can read a lot of love letters to God, in Song of Solomon we uncover lusty verses of erotic poetry, and in the New Testament Jesus models servant love, and Paul teaches us more about the kind of love that makes a marriage strong. Covering all facets of love, you will have no problem finding some sweet nothings to write into a card you give to your special someone along with your special Valentine’s Day meal or dessert. And if you happen to be single this holiday, be reassured in the words of the Good Book, that you are deeply loved by God and by others in your life and you have the great honor of getting to share that love with those you meet. Check out this collection of verses as a bit of a Valentine’s primer and be sure to check out our Valentine’s jokes for inspiration on how to make your lover laugh.
